He began his career at Fat Beats during the rise of underground hip-hop and later worked at Supreme during its early years on Lafayette Street. He would later travel internationally as a buyer for NORT, building relationships and sourcing products in cities including Amsterdam and Tokyo.
In 2005, Santos opened TEAMWORKS, a boutique on Broadway and 125th Street in Harlem. The store became a platform for introducing emerging brands, hard-to-find products, and international influences to a new generation of consumers.
Following the closure of the retail store, Santos spent the next chapter developing creative projects and collaborations with brands including Supreme and Patta. In 2023, he released La Ultima Bodega En SoHo, a self-published book documenting Paradise Deli (Wavies) and the community that formed around it during a period of rapid change in New York City.
Today, TEAMWORKS exists as an ongoing project spanning publishing, apparel, accessories, events, and community.
Two simple ideas guide TEAMWORKS:
“You have to give it away to keep it.”
“We don’t reference culture — we document it, then put it back into the world as product.”
